Attleborough Community Planning Weekend

Friday 5 and Saturday 6 February 2010 at Attleborough Town Hall

Background

Breckland District Council?s Core Strategy identifies Attleborough as a strategic growth location to accommodate in the region of 4500 dwellings and associated development. In accordance with the Core Strategy, Attleborough Land Ltd (part of the Ptarmigan Land Group) is promoting land to the south of the railway line for the majority of this growth.

To help inform that process, Attleborough Land have commissioned John Thompson and Partners (JTP) to engage residents and stakeholders in the assessment of the issues and opportunities for the site and surrounding area and to create a new Vision for the future.

Community Planning

The Community Planning Weekend

Connaught Bowls Club

Description:

Feeling the winter blues? Well, there is a new singing workshop which could be just the cure you need. The multi award-winning ?Sing Your Heart Out? workshops are finally coming to this area at the Connaught Bowls Club, Attleborough for a trial period of six weeks.

These workshops are open to anyone with an interest in singing, but especially mental health service users, and their carers, support workers, families, friends and singers from the local community. No particular skills or abilities are needed as it is very much just for fun !

Singing together has been proved to increase everyone?s mental wellbeing, and many people have benefited from coming and singing with us.

The workshops will be on Tuesdays from 11am to 12:30pm, starting on 23rd February and running for six weeks up to Tuesday 30th March. The sessions will be led by singing coach Chrissy Parsons-West, who is better known in this area as director of Norwich-based community choir, Hearts & Voices, but has for the past 4 years been at the centre of the ?Sing your Heart Out? project and has helped hundreds of people to discover the joy of singing.

There is no charge (though donations are welcome), and no need to book. Just turn up. Refreshments are also provided. Much more information about Sing Your Heart Out is on the website at www.syho.org or email singing@syho.org.

If these workshops prove as successful as other Sing Your Heart Out sessions, they will continue after the trial period. Come and have fun with us and find out why they are so popular !
